Creamy Indian Red Lentils
These creamy Indian red lentils — masoor dal — are simmered in a traditional spiced tomato gravy with coconut milk and butter to deepen the flavour.
This is one of the first vegetarian dishes I ever learned to make, and it has grown with me over time. As my understanding of Indian cooking and spice has deepened, so has this dish. My hope is that it feels comforting, nourishing, and maybe even like the best lentil dish you’ve ever had. And like all good recipes, it will keep evolving with care.
Ingredients
Red lentils, rice, tomatoes, vegetables, coconut milk, onion, butter, garlic, ginger, cilantro, Indian spices, herbs.
